Greetings Self Care Explorers! This month we’re moving forward into 2022 and our journey together with safe risks and baby steps. Oooh, y’all, this stuff is my jam! I am a risk averse person in life - I don’t like gambling and you’ll never catch me jumping out of an airplane. BUT, I believe strongly in taking steps that feel just a little bit risky. I love a safe risk and a baby step. It’s a way to try something out, but with low stakes so it doesn’t feel quite so impossible.
Throughout this month I want you to reflect on what we’ve been talking about so far and then think through what some safe risks and/ or baby steps are that you could try taking. Some of you might be ready to take those (little) leaps now, and some may not. Honestly, it doesn’t matter whether you’re ready to actually do it yet. What matters is that you think about what you could do, how it might go, how it might feel, and what kind of support you need/want from your communities…including us!
If you have time to watch the video this month, that’s what I’ll be talking about. Plus we’ll do some breathwork and I have a question and affirmation that might be helpful or feel good for you. Everything’s optional though, so don’t feel like you have to do everything!
Also, keep reading for some notes about last month’s meeting and some important reminders!
Some reminders and new information:
We’re having a social hang out!
Come join me and whoever shows up for a chill informal social event on Sunday, March 13th, from 1-2pm CT.
Here’s the Facebook event page with the details.
Accidental meeting lock outs
During the February call two people were accidentally locked out of the meeting when they left and couldn’t get back in. I’m so sorry that happened and have a new practice to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Instead of locking the meeting after 10 minutes, I’m going to start using the waiting room. That way if you have to leave or lose signal you’ll be able to join the waiting room and I’ll see that you need to get back in.
During the call this month we’ll check in with the decision to not allow late comers to enter the zoom. Please think about how you feel about this and be ready to discuss if you would like.
A reminder about attendance and participation. If you miss January, February, and March calls you will not be able to participate in the group
This is in order to protect our group’s integrity as a safe and consistent place for support and growth.
I know it will be disappointing, but a main part of this group is committing to showing up for these calls. You can choose to end your Patreon membership, or you can choose to stay for the Patreon benefits and FB community. Please know that it was not an easy decision to make, but protecting the integrity of the group is the most important thing.
I’ll be contacting anyone this might apply to before our call this month to make sure they know about the policy.
Our meeting is on March 20th from 12-2pm CT. Zoom will be open from 11:45am CT so you can come early to get set up, chat, and hang out so we can start right on time.
Please remember our discussion about arriving on time or early. Based on the vote we took, no one will be allowed into the meeting after the 10 minute mark.
This month you’ll need something to write on and with for an exercise. Other than that, just bring a comforting drink and/or snack, some cozy clothes, and yourself!
Time: March 20, 2022 12:00 PM Central Time (US and Canada)

We’ll be using when2meet.com to schedule our meeting dates and times. This is a free service, but there are sometimes ads on the page. You do not need to pay for anything when you access the link above. Here are basic instructions to fill out the scheduler.
Click the link to go to the When2Meet page with our calendar options for next month.
Enter your name and an optional password if you want to be able to come back and edit your availability. I recommend this. The password is temporary and only for this particular month’s scheduler. Each month you’ll start with a blank slate and can choose the same, or a different, password.
Click ‘sign in’ and it will show you the scheduler. Be sure to check your time zone and make sure it’s correct for you. It will show you a selection of dates, divided by the hour, where you can fill in your availability.
To fill in your available times for our meeting, simply click on the little rectangles that divide up the hours. You can fine tune your available times by 15 minute increments. Select all the times that you would be available for our call. Do not select any times where you would not be available.
You will see the group’s availability on the right side of the screen, and can take a look at when the most overlap is. We will select our meeting time based on when the majority of people are available at the same time. Please fill the scheduler out asap so we can confirm the next meeting time and people can block their calendars.
